CHARBRAY SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

There are four forms of membership available to individuals from the Society, and these are:

  1. ACTIVE OR STUD
  2. COMMERCIAL
  3. ASSOCIATE
  4. JUNIOR

Also, the Society confers LIFE MEMBERSHIP and HONORARY MEMBERSHIP on those individuals which the Society considers have earned these honours.

ACTIVE OR STUD MEMBERSHIP

Such membership shall entitle a member to all the rights and privileges of membership and also render a member liable to all obligations of membership of the Society. An Active or Stud member shall have the right to register cattle, vote at general meetings of the Society, to be a member of the Council, and to sell cattle at Society Sponsored Sales. This membership is available to individuals or corporations and the fee for this membership is $275.00 (including GST) charged annually on 1st July . An initial Entrance Fee of $55.00 (including GST) is charged on initial application for membership.

COMMERCIAL MEMBERSHIP

Commercial members are those individuals or organizations who are breeders of commercial (unregistered) Charbray cattle who wish to maintain contact with the Society however do not wish to register cattle or sell cattle at Society Sponsored Sales. Such membership shall entitle a member to all the rights and privileges of membership and also render a member liable to all obligations of membership of the Society, however, a Commercial member shall not be eligible to be elected as a member of the Council, nor to vote at any general meetings of the Society, nor to register cattle or sell cattle at Society Sponsored Sales. Such members have the right to receive all Society publications and attend Society functions and meetings. The fee for Commercial membership is $132.00 (including GST) charged annually on 1st July.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP

Associate members are those individuals or organizations who wish to maintain contact with the Society however do not wish to register or sell cattle. Such members have the right to receive all Society publications and attend Society functions and meetings.

Such membership shall entitle a member to all the rights and privileges of membership and also render a member liable to all obligations of membership of the Society, however, an Associate member shall not be eligible to be elected as a member of the Council, nor to vote at any general meetings of the Society, nor to register cattle or sell cattle at Society Sponsored Sales. The fee for Associate membership is $77.00 (including GST) charged annually on 1st July.

JUNIOR MEMBER

An applicant for Junior Membership shall be a person under the age of 20 years intending to enrol one or more head of cattle with the Charbray Society. Junior members so not have voting rights at Society meetings. Membership fee is $33.00 (including GST).

LIFE MEMBER

In recognition of outstanding services to the Society, the Council may elect any person being a member of the Society to Life Membership of the Society. Every Life Member shall be entitled to all the privileges and be subject to all the obligations of a member of the Society during their life without any further payment of annual subscriptions.

HONORARY MEMBER

Honorary members shall be entitled only to the social privileges of the Society and may be appointed by the Council at their discretion.

Free Promotional Items and Material supplied by the Society is only available to Active Studs.
